Digital instructions in the form of a downloadable PDF file for the A7 Corsair II in its Portuguese Air Force livery. You are only paying for access to this PDF file, so you will need to purchase the parts yourself through Bricklink using the parts list provided here.

And the parts for the stand mount are found here.

Features:

  • Detailed cockpit that sits one Minifigure
  • Moveable control surfaces
  • Deployable landing gear

Please read our About Digital Instructions before you start your build! Our instructions allow you to easily use any colour for the pieces which are not visible on the model. This makes it easier for you to source parts from your own collection.

Important:

Due to the weight distribution of the model, it unfortunately cannot balance on its landing gear, the back is too back heavy. To tackle this, there is a small easy-access compartment behind the cockpit that can be filled with pennies to counter balance the aircraft so that it can balance on its landing gear.

This purchase includes instructions for a stand mount that is compatible with our aircraft stand whose instructions are free on our store!

Please note that the model can be directly fitted onto our aircraft stand without the stand mount that is included (see image 5 and 6 in the image gallery). However, if balancing weights are placed behind the cockpit as previously mentioned, this connection point will be put under a lot of stress.

The A-7P Corsair II served as a key strike and tactical support aircraft for the Portuguese Air Force (Força Aérea Portuguesa) from 1981 until its retirement in 1999. Portugal procured 44 single-seat A-7P and 6 two-seat TA-7P aircraft, modernised from surplus US Navy airframes with enhanced avionics and Pratt & Whitney TF30-P408 engines for its requirements. These aircraft were operated primarily from Air Base No. 5 at Monte Real by Esquadra 302 (“Falcões” / later “Águias Reais”) and Esquadra 304 (“Magníficos”), performing tactical air support, interdiction and air defence roles during the Cold War era and beyond. The A-7P marked a significant advancement in Portuguese combat aviation capability, bridging the gap between earlier jet fighters and the later introduction of F-16s before its final flight in July 1999.
